Ultra Sport, the new recreational high performance glider
The new Ultra Sport 147, is released! All the vehicle tests are complete and we expect to certify it at the next HGMA meeting. We designed the Ultra Sport to be a move up glider from the Super Sport series, with easy handling qualities which make it accessible to pilots graduating from the Falcon, Spectrum, Super Sport, or other similar models. It looks very much like an XC but is easier to fly than a Spectrum. With its very low stall speed, and easy handling qualities it climbs very very well. The Ultra Sport includes most of the hardware features of the XC with an introductory retail price of only $3975! It has the 14/1-VG, rear crossbar haul back system, wingtips, nosecone, kingpost hang pilot suspension, non folding speed bar, streamlined downtubes and streamlined kingpost. Steve will design one larger and one smaller size.
Optimum body weight for this middle size is 150 – 200 pounds. We will of course certify it to a wider weight range of about 150 – 250 pounds pilot hook in weight range.
Next Generation Competition Glider
We have been working on various aspects of the kingpostless glider technology for some time, and we presently have a prototype glider under active development. As those of you who are familiar with prototype development will understand, we cannot predict much in the way of details about the outcome of the project at this time. We do not know when it will be available, or how much it will cost, but it is almost certain to be significantly more expensive than the XC model series. Because of the projected increase in the cost of this technology we do not think it will replace the XC but rather will add another level to our product line.
New Winglets
The construction and appearance of our winglets has been significantly improved by using black gel coat and carbon / kevlar cloth. The new winglets are the same price as before, $315.00 Retail.
Free Winglets!
With a retail price of only $4700, the Cross Country is by far the best high performance value there is. Between now and December 20th every XC ordered will come with a free set of the new style winglets! Remember the Cross Country also includes custom colors and a folding speed bar also at no extra cost! This special promotion will apply to only those orders for which we have received deposits by the close of business on December 20th.
Glider delivery times / inventory
Custom glider deliveries are five to six weeks, and by the time you read this, we will have most models and sizes in stock ready for immediate delivery.
Z-4 Plus harness deliveries
There was a rush of Z-4 Plus harness orders just before the price increase. The harness department is catching up again so custom harnesses are now being quoted at about four weeks. We plan to have some inventory harnesses in stock by the first of the new year.

DareDevil Flyers Four
The fourth DDF video is packed with aerobatic action from the last three years at Telluride. It has a WW factory shop tour, paragliding at Marshal, peak and some vehicle test scenes. DDF 4 is narrated by Rob Kells, and runs 28 minutes. $19.95 Retail
Christmas / Thanksgiving closing dates
For Thanksgiving we will be closed November 28th and 29th. The office will close at 12:00 noon on Friday the 20th of December for Christmas break, and re-open on Monday January 6th 1997.
