Fusion, Cross Country Prices Reduced

We have REDUCED the price on FUSIONS and XC’s ordered from inventory to $5495, and $4395 respectively. These new gliders will come stock with a regular speedbar, instead of a folding speedbar. We’re listening to the market, and we’re hearing that price is important to a lot of pilots, so this is a way to make these gliders more affordable. Custom choice of colors will now cost $300 extra and a folding speedbar will be an $85 upgrade. (These are all retail prices; your normal discount applies). A fully equipped Fusion with custom color choice will now retail for $5880 ($95 less) and this lower price will be applied to all Fusions not yet invoiced as of this date.

The FALCON 140, 170, and 195 will go up one hundred dollars to a suggested retail of $2895 effective on all orders received after 4/10/98. The FALCON 225 will remain at $3195.

All option costs remain the same on the Falcon.

In spite of continually increasing costs, we will hold the line for now on the price for ULTRA SPORTS ordered from inventory at $3975. However the custom color charge will go up from $200 to $300 retail. This new price will also become effective on all orders received after 4/10/98.

All other option prices remain the same.

See the Glider Prices page for more information.

Delivery times are running about eight weeks for custom colors right now. We do have inventory gliders in almost every model and size coming through production with earlier deliveries.

Wills Wing is the new U.S. distributor of the Charly Insider Helmet manufactured by Finsterwalder of Germany. The helmet features a woven glass / kevlar shell, full face protection, high quality three coat lacquer finish, and is very light weight (24 ounces). The insider has a very comfortable, semi streamlined shape with excellent peripheral vision that will accommodate glasses or goggles. It is also very easy to adapt for installation of a radio headset. The Insider helmet is tested and certified to CEN Standard EN 966, which is a European testing standard specifically designed for helmets used for sport aviation. This standard includes tests for shock absorption, penetration resistance and specifications for visibility and head mobility.

Service and Technical
Downtube Fitting Change

Part number 20G-1424 CBAR PLUG AT LEG BOT STR TOE95 has been superceded. The two holes that made a figure 8 shape in the old fittings and allowed each fitting to be used as either a left or right, would eventually wear and cause the holes to become a slot. Once this happens there is nothing to prevent the downtube from twisting out of alignment. While this is not a safety concern it does eliminate the aerodynamic advantage of the “toed in” downtube, and it is somewhat annoying to have “wiggly” downtubes.

The new ’97 control bar plugs have a single hole eliminating this situation. This makes the part side specific so they are stamped L or R. We all need to remember to specify L or R for parts orders. The new part numbers are;

Part number 20G-1425 CBAR PLUG AT LEG BOT STR 97 LEFT

Part number 20G-1426 CBAR PLUG AT LEG BOT STR 97 RIGHT
